In February of 2024, I read one article about microplastics in tea bags. I immediately cleaned out my tea cabinet. The blend I was most disappointed to get rid of was sleepytime tea, which I would drink every night.

But then I thought, "I could just make it myself..."

So I ambled on over to a local health foods store, bought some bulk ingredients, and blended up a batch of my own. I gave it to friends and family and the response was, "Rachel. You sould sell this." 

What started as an Etsy shop with a single product has blossomed into a line of 13 herbal teas and counting. Right when things were getting good, in August of 2026 I got hit with a cease and desist from a multi-million dollar corporation, citing trademark infringement. Within a month, I transitioned from Eden Leaf Tea Co. to Ellenda Tea Co.

Although our name changed, the core of my small business never wavered. Every loose leaf blend is made from 100% organic herbs and is crafted for both great taste and optimal wellness. 

Each bag of tea is blended by hand in Charlotte, North Carolina with domestically sourced botanicals, and contain absolutely no PFAs, microplastics, or pesticides found in tea bags, or natural or artificial flavors.
